The Career of a Lawyer: Creating Success at Each Stage

This fall, the OAAP will present two half-day CLEs, “The Career of a Lawyer: Creating Success at Each Stage.” The seminar will be held Friday, November 2, 2018, at the World Trade Center, Mezzanines 2, 3, and 4, in Portland. The morning program will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (registration at 8:30 a.m.), and the afternoon program will run from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (registration at 1 p.m.). MBA Mental Health and Substance Abuse CLE

In conjunction with the Multnomah Bar Association, OAAP Assistant Director Shari Gregory will be presenting a 1 credit CLE on lawyer-wellbeing on May 15 from 12-1pm. A landmark 2016 ABA/Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation national study found that attorneys are nearly twice as likely as the general population to experience problematic alcohol use, and younger attorneys (under 30) are approximately three times as likely. Reported levels of depression, anxiety, and stress were also significantly elevated among attorneys according to the study.…
