Jennifer L. Harrington
I am a native Oregonian and a graduate of Reed College (BA 1985), the University of Oregon (JD 1990), and Pacific University (MS 2008). My legal practice has focused on representing juveniles in dependency and delinquency cases and children, parents, and intervenors in juvenile dependency cases. During the last ten years, I have represented clients in Mental Health Court and involuntary commitment proceedings and have served as Chief Attorney of the Specialty Courts section for the Metropolitan Public Defender in both Washington and Multnomah counties.
During my training in psychology and after completing my education, I worked as a counselor with individuals, groups, and couples. As a therapist, I use existential, strengths-based, and solution-focused approaches to assist clients who are facing personal and/or career-related challenges. I believe that with the right tools and support we can all navigate adversity, achieve our goals, and discover the most productive and satisfying use of our time and skills.
